Most of our library resources are IP authenticated, which means that the database checks to see if you're on Furman's campus before letting you in. So when you're on campus, very few of our databases should ask you for a login and password.

From off-campus, if you use a link to the resource from the library's website, you will prompted to login using your Furman network username and password. Then you should have full access to our resources. Please don't Google the database name. The link won't include the proxy information that the database needs to prompt you correctly and let you in.

There are a handful of databases that require a separate password. Please contact the Research Assistance Desk directly at 864-294-2195 or via email to obtain the password.

If you encounter a password prompt, credit card request, or access error while on campus or after authenticating through the library's website with your Furman network username and password, please contact the Research Assistance Desk directly at 864-294-2195 or via email with the name of the resource and a brief description of the error.
